The L Magazine Bar Awards

For The L Magazine's Best Bars in Brooklyn issue, I was assigned to make an award that bartenders could proudly display. Knowing that many of these establishments have been here since the 40s, I wanted something that would hearken back to that era, but also keep it modern. 20 individualized awards were made along with a corresponding website badge.

Bored Magazine

The magazine Bored was created to help people create art-based projects in their spare time. Bored inspires readers to think outside the box, to be creative, to make the world their own.

It’s time to stop being restless and start being productive.

A visual identity was created based on demographics and estimated viewership. For the summer issue—pictured here—the theme was photography. Aware of how difficult it can be to pursue such a hobby on a tight budget, I set out to create a light tent/light box with household materials.

Over the course of the trip, I traveled to various parts of Shanghai, Beijing, and Hangzhou—from the ghost markets to the ultra corporate shopping centers, from the slums to the mega cities.
